Master
the art of free flight!
Learn
to paraglide -
Beginner introduction lessons and licence courses.
Personalised tuition is conducted in a professional and relaxed manner,
designed to get you UP and flying safely in the shortest possible time.
All training is provided by qualified, HGFA licensed instructors. The
HGFA (Hang Gliding Federation of Australia) is the organisation that
controls and monitors paragliding in Australia. It works with government
departments including CASA, to form operational and safety procedures
for our sport. CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) is the government
agency that implements and enforces laws for the use of all air space
in Australia. All licenced pilots are required to be members of the
HGFA. There is a yearly fee, which gives the right
to legally fly in Australia plus third party liability insurance and
subscription to the national magazine. Training is not conducted within the Noosa National Park or Cooloola National Park.
Training Options
One Hour "Paragliding Experience" :
Includes basic training with launching and landing skills. Theory introduction
to aerodynamics and meteorology.
One
Day "Introduction to Paragliding" :
Includes
a low-level solo flight in which you are in control, under the supervision
of our Instructors. A tandem flight (if conditions allow), basic theory
and personal instruction. All the necessary flying and safety equipment
is supplied. This is equivalent to day one of full license course. This
cost is deducted when you sign up for the full license course.

Full Pilot Training Course :
In the
Pilot Training course we focus on achieving your goal of learning to
fly. The training is in-depth and tailored to individual needs.
You will gain an understanding of
- essential flight safety skills and awareness.
- practical flying techniques
- aerodynamics
- meteorology and weather conditions
During training you practise all the skills required for solo flying,
including ridge soaring and thermalling techniques. We also integrate
tandem flight training if required. Students undertake practical tasks
and theory lessons and are then examined to meet criteria set by the
HGFA. Training is competency based and usually takes around 9 days to
complete. Upon passing this course you are issued with a novice pilot
certification allowing you to fly anywhere in Australia or Overseas.
For your first 25 hours flight time you need to be supervised by an advanced pilot.
