Hi everyone,
I have
organised the Salomon Acro Paragliding Team (Against the Grain paragliding
acro club) from Austria to come out here in Dec-Jan. They will be staying
with us for 2-3 weeks and are going to perform an Acro displays and
run an SIV/safety course. For people who are keen, they will also be
offering a basic acro course. It's amazing to see what they can do with
a wing! The guys (Bernd and Alex) compete in all the major Acro Comps
throughout Europe including Red Bull Vertigo and are in the top 10 in
world rankings.
They are both really nice and down to earth people, Bernd works in IT
and Alex is a PG instructor and test pilot.
I'm keen
to learn this stuff mainly to get a better understanding of how to control
my glider and to build up confidence in piloting it out of extreme situations.
The guys
have sent me a DVD of them flying in Red Bull Vertigo and other Acro
comps throughout the world. It is inspiring and MIND BLOWING! If anyone
would like a copy let me know.
We're planning
an Acro video/pizza/beer night using John Vasta's "Big Screen"
digital projector and our Dolby surround system, so we can really experience
the action! We had a trial run a couple of weeks ago. It was Awesome!

Please
let me know if you're interested. I feel this will be a great opportunity
to improve our safety, skill, confidence and above all, fun, that we
experience while paragliding. It may even reflect in other aspects of
our lives as well.
Thanks
and hope to fly with you soon.
